Valeria Yost is passionate about her artwork. She has created works of art since she could hold a pencil. She believes she was given a gift from her creator, and she loves sharing it. Her love of horses, then and now, are still favorites. She also loves to paint the wildlife that surrounds her Idaho home. In the last few years, she has punched up the color and added Native American themes and abstract design combining them into new exciting paintings. Her love of nature shines through in all off her paintings. Acrylics are her favorite medium, but she also enjoys watercolor and scratchboard. Self-taught, Valeria attended workshops taught by James Boren (CAA) Terry Isaac, John Seerey Lester, and Robert Bateman. The influence of Robert Bateman’s abstracts early years and his use of the design and color had a very profound effect on her. With most of the teacher’s Valeria worked with passed on, Valeria now enjoys teaching an occasional workshop of her own to pass on their wisdom. Valeria has been with Wild Wings Publishing Company of Lake City, Minnesota since 1999. In 2018 Art Brand Studios of Morgan Hill California purchased Wild Wings. Valeria creates artwork for the corporations, and they market originals open edition and limited-edition prints plus the paintings are used to create images on fabric, puzzles, clocks, clothing, t shirts, rugs, mugs, mirrors, pillows, wooden sign, sun catchers and a variety of other items which have created a multitude of licensing opportunities. Because Valeria is an avid outdoors Woman sporting and conservation groups use her artwork routinely. Valeria has been a professional artist for many years. She began showing work in the 80’s; art shows and awards include Phippen Memorial in Prescott Arizona, The Southwestern Wildlife shows in Charleston S.C., Fall Festivals with Wild Wings in Lake City Minnesota, Old Field Western Art Show in Puyallup, Washington (Best of Show in Oils/Acrylic 2017 & 2014)Online Gallery Show 2021 People’s choice Award with WILDFIRE, Boots & Brushes (Buck Taylor Award 2017), and Cattleman’s Western Art Show and Sale (People's Choice Award 2019) Paso Robles California.
