About the Salmon River Art Guild
The History of
The Salmon River Art Guild
The Salmon River Art Guild was founded in 1964 by three artist friends from Riggins, Idaho just 30 miles up river from its current home of White Bird. The vision of Opal Carlson, Grace Aitken and Dorothy Quinnlen has survived over half a century.
Today the Salmon River Art Guild showcases a variety of talent and interests, from landscape paintings in watercolors, acrylics, oils, colored pencil, bronzed sculpture, polymer clay sculptures, local photography, and photography. You will find pet portraits, landscapes, Idaho landscapes, murals and farm scenes, farm and garden art, stylized paintings, and upcycled metal sculptures to yard art and fabric art, mixed media/fabric art, handmade fabric items and polymer clay figures, floral paintings, hand painted rocks, and more. Current membership includes more than 40 artists. Several members are represented on this website.
