About The Artist:
The Camas Prairie, Idaho is where Jackie Zumalt calls home, paints and at times teaches painting and drawing. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree and Teaching Credential in Art at California State University at Sacramento, CA. A signature member of Northwest Watercolor Society and Idaho Watercolor Society, locally she belongs to the Central Idaho Art Association and the Salmon River Art Guild. Jackie has been drawing and painting since childhood and now considers herself a water media artist using color, its luminosity and glow, to propel her observations of the world into compositions that portray that experience. She enjoys taking an occasional workshop from watercolor and water media artists: Zoltan Szabo, Steven Quiller, Pat Weaver, Stan Miller, Jean Pederson and favorite teacher Joe Dragert are on her list of past and present mentors.
Favorite Quote: “To paint is not to copy the object slavishly it is to grasp a harmony among many relationships.” Paul Cezanne
Zumalt’s paintings are produced in her home studio in Grangeville, ID. She participates in local, regional, national and international art shows and her work may be found in private collections in the west.
Her stunning floral and landscapes in watercolors are refreshing and a joy to view.
