Mike Herther/Herther Leather

Born and raised in Eagle, Idaho, Mikes first exposure to leather was in shop class and that love of leather never faded. In college he studied archaeology/anthropology concentrating on the Plains Indian tribes. From this he has in the past done several artifact reproductions. From preparing the hides of deer and elk to making his own leather for war shields, parfleches, quivers, etc. Several have decorated homes in McCall.

Since his retirement, first logging then The City of McCall, (heavy equipment operator), he has done sheaths for private individual and companies such as Rocking One Knives, Phil Feinberg. Now he makes custom knives of his own.

Mike and Sharon have a shop at their home, doing exactly what they love to do...create!
